Guided Visits
Half Day Guided visit to Old Town
We will begin our visit at the Church of the Convent of San
Domingos de Bonaval, including the Panteón de los
Gallegos ilustres (Mausoleum of illustrious Galician
People), which shelters the remains of Rosalia de Castro
and Castelao, among others. Walk around the nearby park.
We will then visit to the Plaza del Obradoiro, surrounded
by spectacular buildings.
The name of this square is said to come from 'Obra de Oro' (work of gold). The guide will explain also the different squares, as the Plaza de Platerías, which is named after the many shops of silver articles (Platerias) which are to be found still today under its arcades.
Further the Plaza de la Quintana, Plaza de Acibachería. Visit to the historic Cathedral with its marvellous masterpiece 'Portico de la Gloria', by Master Mateo. (Due to ongoing restoration work there is restricted viewingsplendour).
