Guideline for submitting abstracts


 1  Register
If you haven´t done it yet, register in the web page. You will be asked an e-mail and a password that you will use to access the private area.
 2  Enter your private Area
Enter your e-mail and the password in the box you encounter at the top of this page for accessing your private area.
 3  Send your abstract
Go to the Abstract Submission menu and fill in the form with your abstract information. Before submitting it, you may choose to save it in draft mode so that you can edit it. Once you submit the form, you won't be able to edit it.

Call for abstracts

The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts for selection and inclusion in the Scientific Programme. All abstracts must be written in English and in the required format. Please find below the instructions for abstract layout and submission:

Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations.

Abstract should focus on one of the congress topics:

  • 3D Orthodontic Diagnostics
  • Microimplants
  • New Surgical Procedures in Orthodontic Treatment
  • Free Topics

Abstracts should contain no more than 2000 characters (approximately 300 words) including spaces, and must be written in English. The abstract text should be structured into the following format:

  • Objectives (Aims): An introductory sentence indicating the objectives and purpose of the study.
  • Materials (or Subjects) and Methods: A description of the methodology including statistical evaluation.
  • Results: A summary of the data and results (a statement such as the result will be discussed is not acceptable)
  • Conclusions: A statement of the study's conclusion.

Figures, tables and illustrations may not be included in abstracts.

Abstracts can be submitted only via the congress web site: www.eos2012.com where detailed submission guidelines can be found.

Each participant may submit up to two abstracts as a presenting author, either an oral and a poster or two posters. You can save your abstract in draft mode for editing as many times as desired before final submission. Once you have submitted your abstract, you can no longer edit it. After a successfully completed submission, an acknowledgement of receipt of the abstract will be sent to the author's e-mail address. All submissions will be reviewed before inclusion in the programme. Only the abstracts submitted by authors who have paid their registration fees in full by 1st April 2012, will be published in the abstract booklet.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is December 1st , 2011. Abstracts received after this date will not be evaluated.

Notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author by March 4, 2012. If you have not received information concerning your abstract by that date please contact: eoslondon@aol.com .

 

Instructions for Authors

Registration of Presenting Author
All presenting authors must register for the Congress by April 1st , 2012, at the latest, and pay the appropriate delegate fees.

Publication of Abstracts
Accepted oral and scientific poster abstracts will be published on the website of the European Journal of Orthodontics and in the Congress Abstract book, which will be included in the Congress documents.

Instructions for Oral Presentations
The scheduled time for each oral presentation is 10 minutes. With this in mind, speakers are requested to stay within the given time. While a maximum of five names may be given as authors in any one presentation, only one author will be allowed to give the oral presentation.

Instructions for Poster Presentations
All posters will be numbered, listed and grouped in accordance with the congress topics. Posters will be classified as scientific or clinical, according to the content. Authors must be present in the poster area to discuss their poster at the scheduled time. Detailed instructions for oral and poster presentations will be posted on the website www.eos2012.com.

Important Notice
Authors failing to present their accepted presentation at the 2012 congress will not be allowed to present in any format at the 2013 EOS Congress in Iceland.


Houston Awards

Only one poster or one oral can be submitted by each applicant for the Houston Awards.

Applicants for the Houston Awards will be required to submit a paper (double-spaced of not more than 10 pages of A4 including the references), on the research project. Tables and figures in addition to the main paper should be kept to a minimum.*

Papers can be submitted via the congress web site. Enter your e-mail and the password in the box you encounter at the top of this page for accessing your private area. Go to the Abstract Submission menu and fill in the form with your abstract information.
Select the Presentation preference: Scientific Poster Houston Awards or Oral Presentation Houston Awards and then upload the document from your computer and click in Save File button. Atferwards, complete the rest of the abstract. The deadline for submission is December 1st, 2011.
